I want summer 17april2013

The day 17 prompt was to write a poem of salutation.

I want gritty sand between my toes
the smell of sea-weed washed ashore
the sting of salt breeze on my cheeks
and sun-bleached hair

I want the screeching gulls
the plastic chairs
the rainbow towels
the carousel of beach umbrellas

I want the smell of sun tan lotion
the bliss of bodies, fat, and plump
and fit and saggy
hanging out

I want to feel the heat

I want it all
I want SUMMER
